Andy Reimanis
My artwork attempts to reflect the determination of flora and fauna species to survive adverse changes to their environment. I gain inspiration from their tenacity and adaptability. My passion is to depict the beauty and fascination of the natural world through careful observation of the ever present complexity of colours, shapes and textures.
The Tweed region is a veritable treasure trove of subject matter for artists inspired by the natural landscape and its biodiversity.
The culmination (so far) of having spent the last twenty years absorbing myself in the geography of the wider caldera region, has been the collaborative creation of the Green Cauldron Panorama, a 15 metre long painting depicting the 360 degree view from the summit of Wollumbin Mt Warning.

A major project ('and now for something completely different') recently completed and after 5 years of 'contemplation' and research, is a mixed media painting of Murwillumbah when the Tweed River was an essential transport hub for people and goods. The first three decades of the 1900's were the golden era of the steamships.
